Hi, my name is Christina Smith and I have been baking for as long as I can remember.  Ever since I was a child, whenever there was a big family gathering, peach cobbler was always on the dessert table among the cakes and pies!  I started specifically baking only fruit cobblers in 1994 because it seemed that's what everybody wanted.  When I wanted to take a break from baking and wanted to get my peach cobbler "fix" elsewhere i.e. different restaurants I found that the peaches were in fact, peach bits.  The cobbler was too candy sweet and couldn't be eaten with ice cream for fear of sugar overload!  Sometimes the filling was too bland and I couldn't taste the spices.  There was one place I went to (which will remain nameless) where I ordered their peach cobbler and after I ate it, it felt like a rock in my stomach!  If you're not careful, another blunder people fall prey to is the uncooked or partially cooked dough!

I've always wanted to start my own business, I just wasn't sure which "business" to get into.  People kept telling me that I should be selling my fruit cobblers because all of these problem areas that were found in others on the market weren't in mine.  At the time it was quite difficult to listen to good advice because my former employer, at the time, fired me after I told them I was six weeks pregnant.

As a single mother, my days and nights were long, but my son always inspired me to keep going and I'm no quitter!  So, I started throwing tasting parties in my home to see if there was a market out there for desserts like mine.  Orders were placed at my very first party!  Pretty soon the word got out and more and more orders were placed and that's when Christine's Peachy Keen Cobblers was born!

Going after one's dream can be a beautiful thing but there will be obstacles along the way.  In my situation, I had never owned or ran a business before so I needed to find others who had once been in my situation and let their passions and dreams lead them all the way to the top!  I was fortunate enough to meet four of those individuals.  My wonderful songstress sister, Angela introduced me to a benevolent gentleman by the name of George Ramirez.  Mr. Ramirez is a published author, public speaker, has been featured in films such as Pass It On and The Power of Mentorship and is simply a phenomenal person all around.  He holds a class called Present with Purpose, which I attended and it changed my life and business for the better!  I don't know too many people of this caliber that are so accessible and are willing to truly help others achieve their dreams and goals--that is his passion in life.  He and his beautiful wife Olivia live what they speak.  The Ramirez' are definitely people that you want in your corner.  When you drop their name people know, these people have integrity are slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger.

The other two awesome indivduals I met, through the power of association, are Don & Melinda Boyer.  They are the dual force behind the Movie, The Power of Mentorship and The Power of Mentorship book series.  Don & George have worked with notable persons such as Bob Proctor of (The Secret-the movie), John Assaraf, Brian Tracy and Jim Rohn to name a few.  If you have a dream and belief in yourself, Don & Melinda are there to encourage and mentor you with integrity.

So I encourage all who take the time to read this page, on the road to your dream you're going to need a team and you're going to have to surround yourself with people who truly believe in you and support you through their words and actions.  If you don't you'll simply be buying the opinions of others who tell you about all the reasons why your dream won't work and you can't deposit opinions in the bank, ya'll!
